Sleeping Problem is Back

It could be because my job has taken a turn for the worse again, it could be the pressure I've given myself to do a good job with the recent things I've edited, it could be the big move I have planned but something is keeping me awake at night again. I'm about to try and go to sleep. Wish me luck =0)

Busy, Sleepy and Tired...isn't Sleepy and Tired the Same Thing?

I've been very busy recently. I have good news though. I've been sleeping a lot better. I am now having trouble waking up. Not because I don't want to face the day or anything but because I am just so tired. I wake up everyday, walk to the gym, work out, come home, make some food, surf the internet for an apartment and a job and if I have time before I go to work I do some editing or writing. Then I come home from work, make more food, edit and write, look for an apartment and job then go to bed. The negative side to all this is that Im not only tired at night and in the morning but I am tired all day. It's hard to tell if me sleeping more is better or worse. Probably better. That's my short post for today. Thanks for listening/reading.

I Respect the Oscars and It's ratings Decline

Many magazines have reported that the Oscars this year are possibly the lowest in history. They've been coming up with reasons why this is has happened. There biggest argument is that the nominees aren't big blockbusters and people haven't seen the nominees. Well, if that is the case then good, I'm happy the ratings drop. The Oscars actually meant something at one time. Many people would argue that the Oscar for best picture 10 years ago should have went to LA Confidential, not Titanic. I am one of those people but it didn't bother me too much. . The years following the Oscar had been given to movies like The English Patient and American Beauty. Those wins didn't bother me either. It wasn't until Gladiator won best picture and Russel Crowe best actor did the meaning of the award Oscar become a joke. Oscar started to become, not just a popularity contest but also an award given to those who have had to many nominations and no wins under their belt.

The talk of the town during the 2003 Oscars was that the best actress award was going to Nicole Kidman for the Hours just because she had been nominated 3 times already and no win. Im sure if the award that year was going for best performance then it would have went to Kate Winslet for Eternal Sunshine. Actually, that year was Kate's fourth nomination, why doesn't she deserve? Oh right, she's not popular enough. Even Renee Zwellweger deserved it more that year for her performance in Chicago. Renee was the whole movie.

The Oscars were also great at saying the award was going to someone who deserved it the year before but got jipped. . If that is true then shouldn't the Oscars be ashamed of themselves for not giving it to the person that deserved it?

Now, in my opinion, the Oscars are going back to their roots. Their nominating movies no one has seen. That to me is great because every year the nominees are announced those movies tend to do better at the box office. Thats great for independent films. That's great for the little fish directors swimming in a pond full of big fish. If my research is correct, with the exception of Daniel Day Lewis, all the wins for actors this year went to first time nominees. None of the winners were big names or box office draws. Good for you Oscars.

I hope the Oscars stay on the road their on. I think its great for the film industry and it shows people that their are other movies out there besides Transformers and Spiderman.
