Get Up, Come On get Down With the Sickness!

I"m sitting in the urgent health care facility on glendale BLVD. Im wearing my EYE-KEY-AH cargo pants, sexy Grey boxer briefs and one of the hospital gowns that have the hole in the back. I woke up this morning with the goal to go to my Dr which would then be followed by work. I woke up, called the Dr, his secretary told me he was on vacation till the 15th (lucky bastard) then she asked what my symptoms were. I told her, coughing, back pain, lower stomach pain, Migraines, Sweating, wheezing. I told her I had been to that Dr 2 weeks ago and he diagnosed me with Bronchitis but it hasn't gone away. Upon hearing this she told me to go to the Emergency room ASAP. I told her I couldn't afford a $100. co-pay. She then told me to hold on. A minute later she came back and told me to go to this healthcare facility. It would be more cost effective.

So I then called work and told them that I may be a little late due to the fact I was going to the emergency room ( i didn't say urgent health care cause ER sounded more serious) The manager I spoke with then told me that if i was to be late I could get written up. I then asked “Even with a Dr’s note I would get written up?’ and she said “Yes”. So I then packed up my crap and went to work.

The day was rough but manageable thanks to my friends Kim and Tina. They kept me in a pretty good mood most of the day. But once 5:00 hit I got worse and worse. Sweating, wheezing and I couldn't breathe. So I called the Urgent Healthcare again and they said they closed at 8:30. “I work till 8:30!!!” I thought to myself. So I then grabbed my things, walked up to management and told them I had to leave.

Here I sit. Actually, since I started writing this post I have already been diagnosed and am now in the waiting room waiting to be signed out. So that means I’m not wearing that little hospital gown anymore. So sad.

The Dr just told me that I was mis-diagnosed with bronchitis. I actually have a sinus infection. He prescribed me like 5 different medicines to take including vicaden. I was also given a note that tells me to stay in bed for the next 4 days and to not go to work.

Here’s my dilemma Having the next 4 days off would be great. Especially because that means I would have the weekend off. But, I can’t afford it. Im negative on sick pay hours and I need to find an apartment for November. I have a decision to make and it looks like I already know the answer and it sucks.

I would like to give a shot out to my ex Mollye. She called me today to tell me about the mail I had at her house. She could tell by my voice that I was very sick and grew concerned. Now I already had plans to go to the Dr/ER after work tonight or sometime tomorrow but it was still nice to hear that she cared and that she was supportive. . She was my best friend for a long time and she’s a friend I missed a lot.

So...now Im back in my apartment. sitting here resting. A Clarinet I ordered through Amazon has just arrived and I may just go practice it. I will see you all later. So long my Ninjas!!!

Man, that sounds rough. I get a sinus infection every spring and they wipe me out. Hope you're feeling better. Ya, your boss sounds like a horse's ass.

July had me being misdiagnosed twice. Once with "just asthma" and another time with pneumonia. Turned out I had bronchitis. So far with my story and reading yours I'm not exploding with confidence with these doctors.

And these employers...writing you up and shit. Why don't they just punch you in the throat while they're busy adding insult to sickness?

You probably got it from them in the first place.

Was it Craig who said you would get written up? That's a bunch of shit.

Next time he says that - you remind him of when he cried on his motorcycle after getting a bad grade during the walk. That'll learn him.
