OK so I've received a combination of emails and myspace messages to post something ASAP. I'm actually very flattered. Thank you everybody. Well I guess I can talk about my trip to Massachusetts.

It was a trip I had been dreading. My family has been known to drive me crazy. I don't want to go into to much detail but let's just say were complete opposites. This visit turned out to be one of the best trips/visits I've ever had. My family almost came off as different people.

My Mom for many years had been a pretty big drinker and a very heavy smoker. In 2001 she gave it up. Just like that. I was very impressed. Since then I never once nagged her about the smoking. I figured it's probably hard enough to give up drinking let alone both. Well on my 3rd day there I realized that my mom had not smoked once. I was going out to the store and I asked my mom if she needed anything. Milk, chips, cigarrettes? Here response was "no I don't smoke as much as I used too". I had never felt so proud. She is able to stop smoking and drinking just like that. Go mom!

My grandmother who has been pretty much on and off dying for the last 2 years looked great. She was energetic and talkative. Usually she's kind of timid and just all out quiet.

There was something about my other grandmother that had changed that almost made me cry. I only see them once a year and she looked the same but she had developed a limp. I don't know what it was but just that alone made me so sad and I guess I didn't like seeing her like that. I don't like watching her get old. But that is out of my hands isn't it? Oh well I just had a great trip. I can't wait to go again.

So I am going to leave you with some pictures from my trip. I would like to mention that I do have some video posts along the way. They've been taking me a while just because I film them, don't like them, and then re-film them. Hopefully I'll have one up tomorrow. Plus I've been having some trouble with my blog since I switched from blogger to google blogger. Hopfully I'll have that fixed by tomorrow too. Bye for now everyone

my god he returns, welcome back. why is there a combination of anger and fear on the face of everyone in those pics? Even your little nephew looks like he wants to get the hell outta there. On a positive note its good to see Ricky is still livin la vida loca via airplane magazines.

The mountain picture is gorgeous, your nephew looks like a cute little dolly, old age sucks, and brava to mom on quitting 2 bad habits.

Glad your back! Even gladder things went good with your family. I know what you mean about hating watching them get old, I feel the same about my grandparents. One last thing, dude, have you dyed your hair red? I thought you were Blondie...or am i going nuts?

Jamwall, you stopped smoking undies? what are you nuts?

Claire, I am a blonde, but I dyed it red the first week of November. You're not going nuts. I need a better camcorder.

Great pictures and I am so happy to hear that things are on the up and up! It's hard watching grandmothers get older. We always expect them to be around forever. Cherish EVERY moment!!
