I'm not Dead...and a Kong review.
Hello everyone. Im sorry it's been exactly one week since my last post. I've just been terribly sick. I called out from work for my first time last week and left work early for my first time today. Their hasn't been too much happening in my life. I saw King Kong. If you've seen the 1930's original you will enjoy this new version alot. If you havent seen it, this is coming from just about every single friend I know who didn't see the original, you probably won't like it. It stayed true to the original which is good but it could turn out to be it's down fall. From this point forward I will be revealing spoilers so be warned. I know alot of people find the fact that Kong going from Skull Island to New York without explanation silly and unbelievable. Well I don't have a comeback for that except that thats how it happened in the original. When the horrible 1976 version tried explaining it, that was silly. Some people are complaining that the boat ride to Skull Island takes too long. I enjoyed that actually. Maybe it's because I like watching most of those actors no matter what their in. Someone I spoke with thought the close up sad and emotionaly shots of Konk and Naomi Watts were drawn out and cheesy. That didn't bother me at all. In fact I thought those type of shots were done better in this movie than Jackson did in Lord of the Rings. By the end of Lord Of The Rings it became disapointing when Frodo and Sam didnt hook up. The last thing I'll talk about is the final line of the movie. Both the 1930's version and the today version ended with the line "twas beauty that killed the beast". Watching the original version I remember thinking, dont give me that crap it was man's fault Kong died. In this version I was hoping to not hear that line only because, as cliche as it is, I thought the message should be about how man is given a gift and they always destroy it. When looking at reality, whatever the human race dicovers , they usually study it and find a way to destroy it. In both movies they discover Kong and feel the need to capture it for money. If they left Kong their than no one would have killed the beast. But Im not Peter Jackson and Yes I liked the movie alot. If you saw the original than you'll probably love this movie, if you didn't , than it's up to you if you want to go see it. End of huge run-on paragraph.
Begin new run-on paragraph. Continuing my week...I don't really remember it. I rememebr watching Jack Black on SNL and it was OK. Arrested Development was good like always, and Mollye was on it. Tuesday Chicago came out on DVD and I tried throwing a Chicago party on Wednesday but nobody came. So I watched The 40 Year Old Virgin with some friends of mine. It was during the movie when I started feeling a sore throat, much like the one I had last week. I went home, went to bed, woke up feeling terrible but still went to work, now Im home. Tonight a friend good friend of mine from college, Ryan who you may remember a post about him, is in town visiting his sister and he's coming over tonight. Were going to get some eats and just hang since I feel awful. I so hope they don't get sick. I also hope Mollye doesn't get sick either. Well I'll talk to you all later. Alumnsay
