Fantastic Bore?

Here's the "Thing". I never liked The Fantastic Four growing up. I found them boreing. I guy who stretches, and an orange hulk never appealed to me. Before going in the theater I heard that just about every reviewer tore this movie apart. Let me just reitterate that I never liked the concept for the Fantastic Four, I thought the comercials looked fun so I thought I'd give it a shot. Ok now heres where I drop the bomb...I liked it. It wasnt great but the movie i felt was a fun theatrical ride. They did some back story but sut most of it out which I think is part of the reason why critics and people hated the movie. For me takeing out the back story did me a favor. We just kind of jumped right in.
The technology in the movie was extremly advanced for today but since the movie wasn't set in a specific time frame they can kind of get away with it. Plus with everything being so advanced it made the movie visually interesting. Since it's a comic book movie I can forgive and forget things I've just mentioned unlike movies like Armegaddon which did have a time frame with technology very advanced dealing with real issues as opposed to Dr Doom and his want to control New York.
I also feel that this is the type of movie horrible film maker Joel Schumacher was shooting for with his Batman sequels. He was going for a visually pleaseing action packed movie with cool digital effects and good fight scenes. The thing is that since Shumacher is such a terrible director he couldnt accomplish those things and as a result we get left with a train wreck of epic porportions. If you think Im exagerating go watch them again. Here are some quote reminders.

6. "Sing Sing, come on Sing"
5. "What killed the dinosaurs? The Ice Age
4. "Kill the Heroes"
3. "Hey Two Face show me how to punch a guy"
2. ""Bummer"
1. "Cowabunga"

And Remember these faces, Eh.
