Their are things about Tampa I miss

It rained once everyday in Tampa . The rain was followed by images like these.

As much as I didnt like living in Tampa their are definetly things I will miss.

All day today I've been in some sort of funk. Just sad and on and off depressed. It's no big deal, it happens often. I feel like something is missing in my life. When I mentioned it to some of my freinds they mentioned that maybe I need to go back to school. School is just so expensive today. It really doesnt seem worth it. Well in honor of being depressed for no reason whats so ever, I decided to share some good memories with you all. I miss the rain and I miss the sky. I hope you enjoy.

This movie's so Gay...

(movie cast and original broadway cast 10 years ago, mostly the same)

The Rent Broadway cast soundtrack was given to me by my parents Christmas of 1997. I knew nothing about this musical. I didnt even play it right away. Sometime during my Christmas School break I did eventualy listen to it and I liked it. Not loved it but liked it. I introduced the cd to my girlfreind at the time who loved it right off the bat. She brought a copy of it to our performing arts class the first day back from break. She than introduced the cd to everyone and made copy's for everyone ( she did have a burner back than). Everyone from that point listened to it and sang it non stop which started to drive me crazy. Than that year for my birthday all my freinds pitched in and got me tickets to go see Rent in Boston, thats where my love for Rent started to grow. Sitting in Bostons Schubert theater and seeing all the songs come to life through amazing performances. That following year I went to college where the love for Rent quickly died in replace of other musicals. That is until I met a die hard Rent head who got me into it again. Not only did he get me re-hooked but he got me a very minor part in the U-Mass Lowell
production of the musical. He and I sort of became partners and started a radio show on the universitys radio station where we would talk about musicals, movies, politics and of course Rent. Now after being a part of a production of Rent I got sick of it again, that is until this year. When I heard Rent was being made into a movie with mediocre director Chris Columbus at the helm I was a little nervous. Than after hearing rumours of names like Whitney Houston being attached to the project I got more nervous. Than the final word came that Chris Columbus got the original broadway cast to reprise there roles from 10 years earlier, the excitement took over. For me it doesnt matter who directs it. The fact that he got people who brought it to life originally on stage in the film is incredibly respectful. Especially since studios took a huge risk with Chicago a few years ago, luckily it worked. Last years Phantom of the Opera was a joke and now there making Guys and Dolls with Eddie Murphy and Beyonce...Come on.

Quick back story for Rent, now pay attention. Mark(a filmmaker) Roger(a song writer),Tom Collins, Maureen (Marks than girlfriend), and Benny all used to be roommates in a loft in alphabet city New York city. Already that’s a lot. OK Collins left to teach at MIT. Benny left and married the daughter of “the man” who owns most of the buildings in alphabet city, now Bennys there landlord. Maureen dumped Mark and moved out to have a relationship with Joanne( a lawyer). That’s the back story now heres the movie/musical. Mark wants to make a movie about hard times in NY. Roger was just left a suicide note by his girlfriend April saying that they both have aids than she slit her wrists in the bathroom. Rogers goal is to write one great song before he dies. Collins shows up to visit his old roommates but gets brutally mugged and is left for dead. After the mugging Collins meets a transvestite named Angel who comes to his aid. Angel helps his wounds than invites him to a a life support meeting, Collins mentions he has aids too. It’s safe to say that a relationship sprouts. Mimi is an HIV positive stripper who lives below Roger and Mark. After Benny shows up giving Mark and Roger an ultimatum. Cancel Marueens protest show, shes protesting the way alphabet city is being treated by their landlords which is weird cause no one pays rent anwyays, and Mark and Roger can live Rent free. Once Benny leaves Mimi pays Roger a visit, they find out there both HIV positive (coincidence) and there relationship blooms.

Rent is a story best shown on stage as opposed to the big screen. The lyrics are cheesy,"Were not gonna pay last years rent, this years rent, nest years rent, rent rent rent rent rent, were not gonna pay rent",and the story is kind of dated. Back in 1996 It was still a little groundbreaking to see two guys or girls make out and pursue a relationship on stage or screen, now just turn on NBC. In 1996 it was also new to have a story about people with aids on stage. People were still afraid of aids in 96, today aids is remembered about as well as 9/11.

So tonight I saw Rent on the Big Screen and let me just say the performances were fine. Rosario Dawson is the only real newcomer to Rent and she wasnt horrible, not great but not bad. The movie almost made me cry, not for story reasons but because it was just great to see it again. It was like being in high school again. Watching it kind of gave me a feeling that i forgot to study for history again. I cant say I recommend going to this movie. Im not sure that non Rent heads would enjoy it or get it. But I do recommend going to see the stage show if it ever comes to your town.

For the record I hate it when people call things so gay, my title was a joke. I hope someone laughed.

Thanksgiving

In a world full of holidays like Columbus Day, Thanksgiving is one of the few holidays I look forward too. I dont even like Turkey that much, it's just a holiday where freinds and family get together and just be with each other. When you go shopping at stores, you never see a huge Thanksgiving selection at Target or Wal-mart. Usually it's Halloween than Christmas. So I guess it's safe to say that Thanksgiving isnt as comercial as the rest. Working in retail I come to notice the worst in people especially around Christmas time. Working in the electronics department a few years in a row we always have tons of people asking, or should I say needing, certain video games for there kids stocking. When were sold out of what they want we see the worst in everyone. No Happy Holidays, no thanks anyways, we usually get "Well what am i suppose to do?" The response I have set up in my head is "Well the three wise men didnt follow Jesus's birthday list, they surprised him with presents, if they didnt follow his birthday list they would have gotten him the PS B.C." If I had to make a list of overated holidays it would be, not in order
5. Christmas
4. Easter (what do Rabbits, Eggs, and Jesus all have in common?)
3. Labour day ( Its like the day of rest for all people who work, except in retail. than people who do have the day off go shopping as opposed to resting, thanks alot)
2. Memorial day ( who remembers anyone on this day, most people go to the beach, or again shopping)
1. Columbus day,(he was a murderer who tortured and raped thousands and discovered america second)

On that note =0) Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a good night

People

A good freind of mine woke up this morning to find his bike had been stolen. The interesting thing about this is that his bike was behind his car which was locked in his garage. Hmmm I guess they really wanted that bike.
My grandmother woke up to go to work one morning to find her car had been stolen. A few weeks went by and the car was still missing. She couldnt wait forever for it so she bought another one. That was stolen too.
When I first moved to Florida I had a maitenance guy come in to fix my air conditioning. He didnt fix it, but he did take 7 DVD's for his troubles. He quit the next day before I could get him fired, or get my DVD's back. I guess my DVD's were more important to him than his job. I miss "Psycho" most of all.
I'll be honest, I started this blog for the same reason most people start blogs to vent, so here we go. My freinds bike was a very expensive gift from his dad. My grandmother had to buy two cars. I couldnt watch "Psycho". It just seems like most people are horrible human beings. I don't think Ive ever imagined looking at something that someone else had and taking it. It just seems so low of someone. Im not sure where Im going with this.
I hate waking up and sometimes seeing new(and bad) graffiti on the wall across the street from my house. I hate driving home and watching someone jump from lane to lane and not care for anyone else's life. I hate going to work and watch people tear apart the furniture with that I dont give a shit attitude. I hate going for a walk and seeing someone with 12 kids they can't afford to feed. I also dont like close minded people that belive there religion is the only one that counts. Considering the fact that there are over a dozen religions out there, religions is a theory. No im not anti religion Im just saying stay open minded everyone. Who knows whose right and whose wrong.
What do I like? I like my girlfreind and my freinds. I like my family and her family. So basically I like the people I surround myself with. At least I like something.
I have a few nerd theories I would like to share. One is that aliens do exist, they just dont want anything to do with us. If you were flying through the cosmos, would you want to stop at the polluted greedy world. Plus if they did show up we would probably just shoot them and ask questions later. I also believe God exists, he's just at that point of "eh whatever" with us. God created us and he cant believe what he sees. Lots of people ask me "How can you say that". Well I mean look at our president , our congress, our priorities, the rich are spoiled and the poor steal from the poor( and there spoiled too). There are a few good men and woman left. If your one of them, let me hear you say "Hey Ho".

A Weekend Review

I actually really want to go to bed but since I havent written anything on this blog since thursday I felt it was my responsibility to not let my fans down (all two of them) and give them something to read. Friday I had off from work, I got an eye exam, there not much worse than two years ago, woo hoo, and than I went to "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". I will write a review for it later. Ah forget it heres my review, I liked it. There you go. They should write that on the poster. "I liked it".
Saturday I worked. I work for Eye Key Ah, weekends suck. When I came home and watched Saturday Night Live. I want to say that show sucks more and more each week but it doesnt. It just sucks. I don't feel SNL utilizes their talent. I will talk about that more later.
Sunday, Today, I went to work again. dealt with some horrible spoiled people and watched a fellow employee cry. A customer decided he was next even though he never got in line. Basically he yelled at her and started name calling until another employee went over and tried taking over. This employee first fought back with "calm down sir" than it turned into "back off sir" . Security came and broke things up. People suck. Sorry you dont want to wait in line people. I guess You should find another store where lines only exist in dreams. For the record this employee that broke down is a very strong person, Ive never seen anything get to her before so the fact that this guy did this makes me ask a usual question, "How is it my grandfather , who was a great man, is dead and this guy breathes?"
Well my night ended with The Simpsons, A great Family Guy and Drowning Mona, now Bed. Good Night all. If there are any gramatical errors, I don't care.

Remember When...

Is it me or is pizza getting smaller and smaller. I ordered a large pizza tonight and upon recieving it I realized that my Cat, Baby Shoes, is bigger than my pizza. I swear that when I was a kid a large pizza was huge. Ok maybe I was smaller there fore my pizza seemed larger but I don't believe thats the case. I dont' want this to come off as Oh my God my life is going to end, Im just saying it's too bad that food is getting more expensive and not only am I getting less for the dollar, you know that all the products there putting in are getting cheaper and cheaper as well. I know whenever I go to fast food chinese restaurants, depending on the mood of the employee, my portions have been getting less than generous.
Ever notice at those places you have the choice of 1 item, 2 item and 3 item meals. What sucks is that if you get the 2 item meal you usually get the same amount as the 1 item mean its just now you have 2. If you get the 3 item meal the first 2 items are put on the main meal plate while the third is squeezed in this little package the size of the monopoly thimble. Still sometimes you'll order the one item or 2 item meal they pay just put a squirt of beef and tons of brocoli. I like Brocoli but I like beef too. Ladies and gentlemen, we need to stand up for what is right, the next time your in Andy's Pizza Shack or Julios Chinese Food and they fill your plate with half a scoop of food, stand up say " Hey Im an american and I deserve bigger portions, Im better than this". While there reponse will be, " No you don't and No your not". Than we'll just live with the even smaller portion they give us because we suck. After all I am writing a blog about this when I should be writing something that might sell. Baby Shoes get away from that pizza.

"Elizabeth" Is A Violent Porn Fest

Have you seen Elizabeth, the movie makes you dumber after viewing it. Ok obviously I'm kidding and if your not sure why I'm writing this it's because a Georgia school teacher was fired recently for showing the 1998 movie Elizabeth to his senior class. The movie is rated R and apparently the parents and school board of the community have a problem with that. If anybody who is anybody has learned through theater experience that most movies that are true to life or have any learning value are rated R such as "Saving Private Ryan", "Glory", "Schindlers List", "Halloween", "Cradle Will Rock", "Fahrenheit 9/11", "Bachelor Party", "Hotel Rwanda", "Gangs of New York' and "Friday the 13th part 8 Jason Takes Manhatten". Yeah only Jason Takes Manhatten was real. Ok so some of those other ones werent real either. If you were looking at "Bachelor Party" and thought I was serious than maybe "Elizabeth" does have a negative effect on the mind.
Ok in all seriousness than if we are to ban these movies than technically we should ban anything historical with learning value. We can tweak up history so it's not as violent and sexy. Lets talk about the Civil War. Isn't it weird that it last so many years and No one died. There wasnt even a purpose, "Slavery" please. Im sure all those slaves were treated great. After all there owners were all rich and never horny. World War 2 and the Holocaust is one of my favorite laughfests to talk about. remember when the Nazis took the Jews out of there homes and Bought them better homes and gave them Fine dineing and Jewelery. Ah Good times.
Why just tweak up history we also tweak up literature. "Romeo and Juliet" abridged. In this version theres no kissing or touching and they live happily ever after and have 6 kids (thanks to the storks) and have lots of friends (watch "Reefer Madness").
Ok so this rant has gone on long enough, Neh. I've got more. Banning "Elizabeth" is similiar to How back in 1997 Senator Tom Coburn of OK had a problem with NBC airing "Schnindler List" uncut and uninterupted from 7-11pm one sunday night. He said quote NBC had taken network television "to an all-time low, with full-frontal nudity, violence and profanity" by airing the movie. He said the broadcast should outrage parents and "decent-minded individuals everywhere."
Wow. Full Frontal nudity and violence. I dont know about you but I remember my senior year in high school watching schindlers list, I got that really uncomfortable feeling in my pants , I had to whip it out and start masturbating, luckily saving me from embarrassment everyone else followed , boys, girls and the teacher. Afterwards, this is hard to talk about, a couple students and myself got some guns, round up a few hundred jews and locked them in our basements. It was a sad dark time for me. We never talked about that incident again.
But maybe it does make sense to ban "Schindlers List" I mean after all there are still some of us who don't beleive it ever happened. I figured well we all have our beliefs and a right to our opinion. Like me, I dont believe the Iraq war is happening , No. I mean come on do you really think there are troops in Iraq dying?. Have you driven past an Air Force Base recently, there are just tons of troops standing around, hanging out, I mean why do we pay them 6.15 an hour, to just dick around all day. Have you seen the money surplus we have that were not doing anything with. It's ridiculous. But hey we can just sugar coat the Iraq war when it's over.
We all have a right to our opinion, just think about what your doing people before you do it or say it.. Your pissing me off. Stop it.

"The Phantom Menace" vs "Attack of the Clones"

This post, who cares to you, important to me so back off. Im writing this after viewing "Revenge of the Sith" four times... I said back off. Revenge of the Sith, not a very good movie, at all but it does deliver what I wanted it too. Yoda vs the Emperor, seeing Darth vader again(even though his dialogue sucks), the Jedi being wiped out, yeah i think thats about it. It also had some surprises such as fine performances from Ian Mcdiarmd and Ewan Mcgregor. It also had a disapointing bad guy,General Grievous, shots of the same ships landing from 6 different angles, either a bad actor potraying Anakin or terrible directing for Anakin I havent decided yet, Bad dialogue, disapointing out comes to fight scenes, and a lava planet saber fight scene that started out great and ended...well I was alseep by the end did Anakin win? Of course I know who won. Im too big of a fan. The movie is just so crammed together with too many things that Lucas felt needed to be said or shown. Mostly shown.
Ok so Ive written a whole paragraph and havent mentioned any thing about the preceding movies. Heres my thing, Sith is the best of the prequels ,in my opinion, but what Phantom Menace and Clones had to offer was either very little or tchnically the same. It would be very easy to splice those two movies together and maybe have a decent action movie with still a movie to help split Revenge of the sith so it dosnt feel so full.
The Phantom Menace really had little to offer. Qui-Gonn Jinn who is Obi-Wans apprentice was cool but very unecasary. He added very little to the series. Well technically he added alot but someone else could have done it. Obi-Wan meet Anakin, R2 Meet 3po, Padme meet Anakin, Palpatine meet Anakin. That could easily be done by another character say Obi-Wan. Before the Phantom Menace we all thought Yoda Trained Anakin. Quote from Empire "there you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me". Ok it doesnt say Jedi master who trained me but we all assumed.
Also in this movie I felt Anakin was too young, thats where the splicing of the two movies come into play. I dont really need to see "Obi-Wan Kenobi meet Anakin Skywalker". I have no problem with Obi-Wan playing Qui-Gonn and Anakin playing Obi-Wan in Phantom, Im getting lazy with the titles. We dont have to delete Jar Jar either, we can toughen him u or maybe still keep him stupid but super strong or a sharp shooter. Give him something that makes him a little bit cooler. I suggest a leather jacket and in office in the mens room. "Ayyyyy".
Lets cut out the pod race. What did that add, really. A half hour of "wow anakins gonna win huh". Ok so now we have Obi-wan and Anakin now in Phatom menace replacing Qui-gonn and Obi-Wan. They go to Naboo save Amidala because theres a droid army about to take over thanks to the behind the scenes working of Palpatine and Palpatine has a hit out on Padme. Amidala meets Anakin. Amidala finds Anakin Hot, Anakin wants to tap that but can't due to his dedication to the Jedi order ( no love or sex, where do jedi's come from).
They head to coroscant. Padmes asleep when the assasin attacks. Obi-wan and anakin hunt him but fail. Obi-Wan and Anakin speak before the Jedi counsel which includes Count Dooku. Dooku suggests Anakin is left to protect Amidala while Obi-Wan goes and finds info on the assasin. Amidala goes before the senate with senator palpatine. Shes asks for help from the chancellor recieves none. She calls a vote of no confidence. Palpatine runs and becomes chancellor. Obi-Wan, now on some other planet, learns information there are 2 assasins, Boba Fett (not Jango, who says how old boba is) and as hes about to find out more information he gets into a small confrontatin with Darth Maul. Obi-wan caught off guard, escapes for he was not ready to battle. He tries to contact the counsel but his system is jammed and cant send. He makes the decidion to stay on the path he has chosen where he learns of a clone army. He finds out there clones of Boba Fett. He tracks down this Fett and gets into another altercation. Boba Fett escapes. Obi-Wan is about to chase Fett when he gets a transmission that Amidala is taking Anakin and Jar Jar, there going to round up some Gungans and free the Naboo planet. Obi-Wan fearing that there is a sith lord on the loose and anakin isnt ready for a confrontation drops the hunt of Fett to help anakin. Than Phantom Menace stays the same with the exception of Anakin fighting Maul all by himself, Anakin is doing alright all by himself until another sith shows up but his face is covered. now its Anakin vs Maul with a double sided lightsaber and the unknown sith, the only thing about him that unique is that this sith lords blade is shaped oddly, like a gun. Anakin is about to lose when Obi-Wan shows up and takes on Maul. The cloaked sith lord is now fighting Anakin. As they fight the sith lord talks terrible things to make Anakin angry. Things that will happen to Amidala once Anakin and Obi-wan are dead. He mentions that is he doesnt finish him soon Obi-wan will soon be dead. Obi-Wan cant handle Maul all by himself. The mysterious Sith separates Anakin from himself through those red baracades that show up. The sith leaves and Anakin runs back to Obi-wan. The fight with Obi-Wan and Maul is going fine but from what that sith was saying made Anakin feel angry and he didnt want to lose his master. As Obi-Wan is fightting Anakin runs up from behind Maul, Fights him aggresively , all Obi-Wan can do is watch and before long Anakin chops Mauls head off. Obi-Wan shocked as to what just happened gets angry with Anakin. tells him he had everything under control and that he was fighting with anger and hate. Anakin is now confused with anger and resentment that his master is disapointed in him. Obi-Wan fearing that there imaged is captured goes and sabotages where they were recorded. And than everythign stays the same.
Even though we know as an audience that Palpatine is The Phantom Menace by the next movie we find out theres another who takes all the credit so palpatine can stay hidden, that is count dooku. The Jedi find out about Dooku by the middle of the movie and Obi-Wan and Anakin go after him. Dooku loses to the 2 jedi and is chopped and thought to be dead. Than Dooku is transformed into Grievous but is now instead Darth tyranus, that way we get a taste early on that there is a darth vader prototype. Yoda fights Tyranus yadyadayda and we have alot more room for story in both clones and sith so its not so crammed together.
Beautifully long but whatever. I just think there is alot of unecessary things about both clones and phantom that could be done away with to make room for more story.
If you didnt want to hear what I had to say than why'd you read it. =0) Later

Arrested Development

I found this to help the Arrested Development situation.

Write a strongly-worded letter.

While G.O.B.'s strongly-worded letter (written using nothing but natural light) may not have had the best results, a courteous, well-written, professional letter to Fox executives is the most-effective tool for the average, non-Nielsen viewer.

Note that Mr. Liguori and Ms. Ross work at FOX Broadcasting, and are responsible for Fox scheduling; whereas Mr. Newman and Ms. Walden work at Fox Television, and are responsible for producing the show.

Peter Liguori
President of Entertainment
FOX Broadcasting
10201 West Pico Blvd.
Building 100, Room 4450
Los Angeles CA 90035

Marcy Ross
Senior Vice President of Current Programming
FOX Broadcasting
10201 West Pico Blvd
Building 100, Room 4150
Los Angeles, CA 90035

Mr. Gary Newman or Ms. Dana Walden
Twentieth Century Fox Television
10201 West Pico Blvd
Building 88, Room 259
Los Angeles, CA 90035

While a handwritten letter or postcard is generally considered the most effective, you may also choose to call the Fox viewer hotline at 800-369-6848 or 310-369-3066. Least effective is probably emailing askfox@fox.com. We're told that a Fox staffer reads these emails and produces reports for programmers, so you'll be adding a number to some mindless tally.

Tell everyone about the show.

Save this Show Please

Ok So I have written nothing on my blog and as of right now noone knows anything about me. But I need to let people know that Fox has cut the order of one of the best shows on TV from 22 episodes to 13. The name of the Show is Arrested Development. This is the best show on television and nobody watches it. If you are a fan at all find a petition and sign it. I will post a link as soon as I find one. Or go to Fox.com and email them. Its a shitty world when shows like Three wishes, Smallville, The OC, American Idol all get great ratings and no one watches something thats actually thought provoking. I will write more on this topic later.
